Mixed Finish For BGB At VIR
After Late Race Charge To The Front

SPEEDTV BROADCAST TODAY, SATURDAY May 1st AT 1:00PM EST

(Ormond Beach, FL, USA - April 30, 2010)  This past Saturday's 4th round of the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series concluded with BGB teammates Stewart Tetreault and Guy Cosmo finishing in 8th among 30 GS competitors in their Porsche 997, while BGB Porsche Cayman S teammates Steve Jenkins and Craig Stanton finished in 12th and Keith Carroll and Duncan Ende finished 19th.  After 2.5 hours of hard fought racing from the rolling hills of the picturesque Virginia International Raceway, the BMW M3 of Turner Motorsports took 1st place honors but not without a charge to the front by BGB teammates Guy Cosmo and Craig Stanton, where the pair ran as high as 3rd and 4th before having to return to pit road for a late-race fuel stop.  The race's only caution period occurred around the 1 hour mark, putting everyone on a fuel gamble strategy for the 2nd half of the race.  As competitors cycled through their final pit stops, BGB had to follow suit as drivers Stanton, Ende and Cosmo all needed more fuel to go the distance.  The team had to settle for a trio of respectable finishes and live to fight another day.

Saturday's results revised the championship standings among the BGB cars, as the #83 Porsche 997 of Stewart Tetreault and Guy Cosmo sits tied for 9th place honors in the Team Championship, while teammates Keith Carroll and Duncan Ende and their #23 Porsche Cayman S slipped back to 13th place.  The weekend did not get off to a great start for the duo that had occupied the 8th spot in the Team Championship; both Carroll and Ende are determined to come back strong at the next race at Lime Rock Park.  BGB Motorsports Team Manager John Tecce had more to add:

"We tried to gamble on fuel just like everyone else and I don't think anyone expected the race to go as caution free for the 2nd half like it did.  We played the strategy right, but it just didn't go our way.  It was not the greatest weekend all around from a results perspective but the Cayman continues to show speed as it once again ran in the top 5 for the 2nd time this year.  It was not the greatest weekend for our #23 Cayman S and Saturday's results will hurt them in the Championship; we're going to put it behind us and make some changes for Lime Rock and see how things pan out."

The action from last Saturday's battle will air on Speed TV today May 1st at 1:00PM EST, with a 2nd broadcast on Tuesday May 4th at 3:00am, EST.
Continental Tire teams return to Lime Rock Park in beautiful Lakeville, CT for the 5th round of the 2010 championship.  After missing the 2009 round, BGB returns to Connecticut where they finished 4th and 6th in 2008, despite nearly winning the event in the familiar orange Porsche 997.  The tight confines of the 1.51 mile road course should suit the Porsche's abilities and the team feels confident about their chances to return to the podium.

BGB Motorsports is an ambitious, professional motorsports business.  The team's facility is located less than 15 miles from Daytona International Speedway and the headquarters for the Grand American Road Racing Association. The team operates as a customer oriented business, running cars under the Grand American Road Racing, Sports Car Club of America and Porsche Club of America sanctioning bodies.
