BGB BEGAN OPERATING IN 2002 SOLELY AS AN ENTRANT IN NORTH AMERICAN SPORTS CAR ENDURANCE RACING AND SINCE 2004 AND HAS FIELDED SOME OF THE HIGHEST FINISHING PORSCHE ENTRIES IN WHAT IS NOW KNOWN AS THE IMSA MICHELIN PILOT SPORTS CAR CHALLENGE SERIES; BGB CONTESTED TEAM, DRIVER AND MANUFACTURER CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR OVER A DECADE SUPPORTING AS MANY AS FOUR CARS SIMULTANEOUSLY. WE BEGAN OUR PORSCHE JOURNEY IN 2004 WITH THE 911 CARRERA PLATFORM, SWITCHED TO THE DIRECT FUEL INJECTION MID ENGINE CAYMAN PLATFORM IN 2010 ONLY IN 2012 TO SWITCH BACK TO THE 911 PLATFORM. THIS WAS A TIME WHEN WE CARRIED THE FLAG FOR PORSCHE CARS NORTH AMERICA WITHOUT ANY TECHNICAL OR FINANCIAL SUPPORT FROM THE FACTORY. OPERATING AS A CUSTOMER ORIENTED BUSINESS BUILDING, DEVELOPING AND SUPPORTING MULTIPLE CARS - WE HAVE ALIGNED WITH PORSCHE MARQUE EVER SINCE!
2013 SEASON - ROLEX GX DRIVER AND TEAM CHAMPIONS: WITH THE CREATION OF THE ROLEX GX CLASS CAME THE OPPORTUNITY TO RACE A CAYMAN WITH A 3.8L 911 CARRERA POWERPLANT IN THE PREEMINENT ROAD RACING SERIES IN NORTH AMERICA, SIGNIFYING THE FIRST, LAST AND ONLY TIME A PORSCEH CAYMAN EVER RAN THE ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA. GRAND-AM AND BGB WORKED TOGETHER TO HOMOLOGATE THE PORSCHE CAYMAN S WITH A 3.8L DIRECT FUEL INJECTION ENGINE FROM THE 997.2 GTS. THE ROLEX 24 YIELDED A 1-2-3 FINISH FOR THE PORSCHE CAYMANS; BGB WAS THE SOLE PRIVATEER TO CONTEST THE SEASON, STARTING OFF WITH A 3RD PLACE FINISH IN THE ROLEX 24 AND RUNNING THE PORSCHE CAYMAN TO 10 CONSECUTIVE 2ND-PLACE FINISHES. THIS EARNED THEM THE 2013 ROLEX SERIES GX TEAM AND DRIVER CHAMPIONSHIPS.

2013 SEASON – CONTINENTAL TIRE SPORTS CAR CHALLENGE SERIES IN THE CONTINETNAL TIRE SERIES BGB MOTORSPORTS FINISHED 6TH AND 17TH IN THE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS RUNNING A PAIR OF 997.2 GTS CARRERAS WITH THE SAME X51 POWERPLANT AS THEIR ROLEX GX CAYMAN. THE #83 MOMOUSA PORSCHE DRIVEN BY DR. ROD RANDALL AND KEN WILDEN FINISHED IN THE TOP-10 3 TIMES AND IN THE TOP-13 6 TIMES IN TOTAL BEFORE A CRASH AT KANSAS CITY DAMAGED THE CAR TO THE POINT WHERE IT SIDELINED THE VEHICLE AND ITS DRIVERS FOR THE FINAL 2 RACES OF 2013. CALCIUMPRO PORSCHE DRIVER JIM NORMAN ACHIEVED 2013 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR STATUS WITH WINS AT LAGUNA SECA AND 2ND PLACE FINISHES IN TEXAS AND ATLANTA; FRIEND, TEAMMATE AND MENTOR SPENCER PUMPELLY FINISHED IN THE TOP-10 7 TIMES AND ON THE PODIUM 3 TIMES FOR THE DUO'S INAUGURAL SEASON. BGB HAD THEIR 171ST START IN THE GS CLASS TO CLOSE OUT THE 2013 SEASON, FINISHING IN THE TOP-10 44% OF THE TIME ACROSS 10 SEASONS.

2012 SEASON - CONTINENTAL TIRE CHALLENGE SERIES CHAMPIONS! THE GRAND AMERICAN ROAD RACING ASSOCIATION'S ABILITY TO MAINTAIN PARITY PROVIDED AN ATTRACTIVE PORSCHE RULES PACKAGE FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2008. HAVING BEEN THE ONES TO GET THE RULES REVISED, BGB SWITCHED BACK TO THE PORSCHE 911 PACKAGE AND CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS CLEAR THAT WITHOUT A RULES PACKAGE, YOU CAN'T HAVE A WINNING COMBINATION. IN DOING SO, BGB MOTORSPORTS DRIVERS JOHN FARANO AND DAVID EMPRINGHAM CLINCHED THE DRIVER'S CHAMPIONSHIP AND PORSCHE RETURNED TO THE WINNER'S CIRCLE FOR THE MANUFACTURER'S TROPHY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NEARLY 7 YEARS. WHILE THE TWO WENT WINLESS DURING THE SEASON, CONSISTENCY AWARDED THEM AND BGB MOTORSPORTS THE DRIVER'S CHAMPIONSHIP, A 2ND PLACE FINISH IN THE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP AND PORSCHE'S THE BUILDER'S TITLE.

2011 Season "THE CAYMAN YEARS - THE FINAL CHAPTER." RUNNING ONLY 6 RACES DURING THE 2011 SEASON, THE TEAM CAMPAIGNED THE PORSCHE CAYMAN S AT THE HANDS OF STEWART TETREAULT AND GUY COSMO WITH AN IMPRESSIVE STRING OF TOP-10 FINISHES. IN NEARLY EVERY RACE DURING THE 2011 SEASON, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF LIME ROCK WHERE A NAIL ON TRACK BROKE THE STREAK, A BGB CAYMAN RAN IN THE TOP-10 AND FINISHED WITH AN IMPRESSIVE STRING OF TOP-10S AND STRONG RESULTSA CONSIDERING HOW OUTMATCHED AND OUTGUNNED THE LITTLE PORSCHE CAYMAN S WAS IN THE FIELD OF ANGRY V8 MUSCLE.

2010 SEASON "SWITCHING FROM THE 911 TO THE CAYMAN" IN 2010 THE TEAM RETURNED TO FULL-TIME GRAND-AM COMPETITION WITH A PAIR OF RACE PREPARED PORSCHE CAYMAN S CARS THAT THEY COMPLETED IN 2 MONTHS AT THE END OF 2009. AS THE FIRST TEAM EVER TO PROFESSIONALLY CAMPAIGN THE CAYMAN IN NORTH AMERICAN COMPETITION, DAYTONA SHOWED PROMISED WHEN STEVE JENKINS WAS THE HIGHEST QUALIFYING PORSCHE TO SPOTLIGHT THE CAYMAN'S DEBUT. TEAMMATES KEITH CARROLL AND DUNCAN ENDE FINISHED JUST OUTSIDE THE TOP-10 IN THE TEAM'S OTHER CAYMAN TO COMPLETE THE CAR'S FIRST RACE, ONLY TO GO ON TO ENJOY CONSISTENT FINISHES IN THE BLUE #23 RACER'S ROAST PORSCHE CAYMAN, OCCUPYING THE TOP-10 IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR MOST OF THE SEASON UNTIL A CRASH ON THE STREETS OF TROIS RIVIERES ENDED THE CAR'S CAREER.

2009 SEASON DUE TO CONCERNS DURING THE ECONOMIC DOWNTURN OF 2008 AND 2009 AND THE TEAM'S INABILITY TO FIND SPONSOR OR DRIVER COMMITMENTS INTERESTED IN SUPPORTING THE PORSCHE 911, BGB MADE THE DIFFICULT DECISION TO CEASE OPERATIONS AND RESTRUCTURE. SOME LATE-SEASON INTEREST RETURNED THE TEAM TO THE PADDOCK FOR THE FINAL 4 RACES OF COMPETITION TO SUPPORT A PAIR OF 911S.

2008 SEASON IN 2008 THE #83 PORSCHE SPONSORED BY WEEDEN CONSULTANTS FINISHED 4TH IN THE TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP WITH BGB DRIVERS CRAIG STANTON AND JON MILLER TAKING 4TH PLACE AND 5TH PLACES IN THE DRIVER’S CHAMPIONSHIPS. WHILE THE TEAM WAS UNABLE TO IMPROVE ON LAST YEAR’S 3RD PLACE CHAMPIONSHIP FINISH , THEY WERE A THREAT DURING EVERY SINGLE RACE, PRODUCING MULTIPLE WINS, PODIUMS AND TOP-10 FINISHES. DURING THAT SEASON BGB PORSCHES WON 3 RACES , MORE THAN ANY OTHER SINGLE TEAM IN COMPETITION.

2007 SEASON DURING 2007, BGB MOTORSPORTS FINISHED 3RD IN THE CONTINENTAL TIRE SERIES TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP, FOURTEEN POINTS SHY OF 1ST PLACE. BGB PORSCHE DRIVER CRAIG STANTON FINISHED 3RD IN THE DRIVER’S CHAMPIONSHIP WITH MID-SEASON ARRIVAL HUGH PLUMB FINISHING IN 5TH. PLUMB AND STANTON JOINED TOGETHER TO FINISH IN THE TOP-10 SEVEN CONSECUTIVE TIMES IN SEVEN ATTEMPTS. THE PAIR VISITED THE PODIUM DURING ALL 3 FINAL RACES IN 2007.

EARLY HISTORY THE TEAM’S INVOLVEMENT WITH THE PORSCHE CHASSIS BEGAN PRIOR TO THE 2004 SEASON WHEN THE GRAND-AM SERIES CHOSE TO REDUCE THE FORMAT FROM FOUR CLASSES DOWN TO TWO. FROM 2004 THRU 2006, THE EXISTING GRAND-AM CONTINENTAL TIRE SPEC PORSCHE OFFERING FROM THE DEALERSHIP WAS THE 996 CARRERA 2 CHASSIS. WHEN PORSCHE IMPROVED THEIR PLATFORM, BGB FOLLOWED SUIT AND IN THE END OF 2006 THE TEAM PURCHASED THE CURRENT GENERATION 911, OR 997, WHICH THEY’VE RUN SINCE THEN. IT WAS THEN THAT THE TEAM'S PORSCHE PROGRAM GAINED MOMENTUM AS TIM TRAVER AND MIKEL MILLER WON THE 6-HOUR SEASON FINALE AT VIRGINIA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY, SECURING THE MANUFACTURERS TROPHY FOR PORSCHE CARS NORTH AMERICA, AROUND A RAIN SOAKED AND VERY DARK VIR RACE TRACK.

DURING THE YEARS 2004 THROUGH 2013, BGB RUN PORSCHE ENTRIES WON 5 CONTINENTAL TIRE SPORTS CAR CHALLENGE SERIES RACES OVERALL, VISITED THE PODIUM 16 TIMES AND FINISHED IN THE TOP-10 NEARLY 75 TIMES. THIS STRING OF CONSISTENT TOP FINISHES AND LACK OF FAILED ATTEMPTS TO FINISH COMES AS A RESULT OF GREAT PREPARATION AND DEDICATION OVER THE YEARS. BGB BUILT CARS TO FINISH RACES AND USUALLY ONLY FAILED TO DO SO WHEN CRASH DAMAGE AMONG DRIVERS OCCURED. OVER LAST 140 ENTRIES, ONLY FOUR TIMES HAD A BGB PREPARED CAR FAILED TO FINISH A RACE FOR MECHANICAL REASONS; THIS WAS AN IMPRESSIVE RECORD WHEN CONSIDERING THE LEVEL OF COMPETITION AND LARGE FIELD SIZES IN THAT RACING ARENA.
